Stan began his journey as a stylist at 14 years of age when, frustrated with getting bad hair cuts on his long hair at the barber or his mom's shampoo set salon, his mom found a book for him on "how to cut hair". He "read" the pictures and figured out how to cut his own hair, then moved on to his family and friends. By the time he graduated from Rainier Beach High School, he had a good clientele started and some are still clients. He went on to beauty school at Seattle Central Comm. College and right from the start loved it and knew he was good at it. However, he was not satisfied with "just good" so he set out to get as much training as possible and continues to get as much as he can to this day.
With all his accomplishments Stan says his most important one was accepting Jesus as his Savior at age 22. That is what turned him around and made him into the successful stylist, husband & father that he is today. Any boasting is not in himself but in Christ Jesus and he says he has much to be thankful for!
Stan's love of people, his love of laughter, and his ability to enjoy life are what draw people to him. He says he can learn something from watching each of his stylists work and he is very proud and humbled by all of the people working with him at both salons. He also likes to help young stylists be the best they can be, and his apprenticeship program has been very successful.
He loves to be with his family, enjoys all athletics (to watch & play). He also loves to cook! His two favorite places are Maui ( for the beach ) and New York City ( for hair ).
His favorite products are Bumble & Bumble's Tonic Spray, Thickening Spray and Sumowax. He loves all aspects of hair but probably gets most excited about doing a new cool hair cut or being able to make someone with a balding problem look like they have great hair!
