Woot! What a great day! We had our first intra salon photo shoot to get new professional pictures for the salon website. The shoot was held at the Federal Way salon and combined stylists and hair models from both the Federal Way and Maple Valley salons.

Michael Hall conducted the shoot and brought in one of his A-Team photo pros to capture all the great models. The hair models we used were not professional models at all but our regular everyday customers!
Michael, who is recognized for his highly creative and provocative fantasy makeovers, brought in a well-known fashion and editorial photographer, and two talented makeup artist to work on over twenty five new looks for the new "Picture Gallery" on the salon site.

Now the post production work of sorting, selecting, cropping and editing the 938 pictures taken will be done and

selected shots will be submitted to national and international hair and beauty magazines for publishing. When you come in for your hair services later on, you'll be able to see the salon's work in an assortment of coffee table hair magazines that are in magazine stands and salons over the USA and the world.
Check out the upcoming pictures, on the site in a couple weeks, and see the high caliber of work by our awesome stylists. Enjoy!

"Penny Wars"
Our salon just finish participating in our two month "Penny Wars". Penny Wars is a fun in salon benefit we do to collect money to donate to a worthwhile cause. We collected loose change, with the help of our wonderful customers and we carried on a friendly, but sometimes spirited competition amongst the stylist.
We picked as the recipient this year, Phoebe House. Phoebe House is a facility where woman can live with their kids. They provide housing, services, and support to Pierce County mothers and children impacted by substance abuse.
With the money raised, we were able to fulfill the residence's "Wish List" for Christmas, which in most cases were basic necessities, such as a warm coat. Some of the stylist, as they were out shopping, were able to obtain many fantastic extra items from the stores themselves who also wanted to contribute. The gifts included toys, books, clothing, kids and baby items which were wrapped and presented to the house.
Because of the money raised, the generous donations and to the awesome efforts of the individual stylist who organized it, we were able to also give them over five hundred and fifty dollars worth of gift cards as stocking stuffers.

We would like to welcome our new stylist,
Michael Hall to the Federal Way Salon Parente! Michael directs and produces fashion and hair shows as well as orchestrating photo shoots for editorial and fashion magazines.
Earlier this year he was the guest artist for a well attended event put on for hairstylists in the local region. The show, held at the Bellevue Hilton, was an three hour extravaganza featuring well know artists who just happen to live in our area. Michael assembled his own crew of makeup artist, gorgeous models, hair and wardrobe assistants, photographers, and video crew to highlight the show with an incredible finale presentation. Michael not only designed the hair but also designed the fashions as well as the choreography the stunning models performed on stage.
www.capelli-doro.com/index.htmTwo weeks later, he headed up another crew, as the artistic director on an overnight shoot in the San Juan Islands. He worked with swimsuit designer, Heidi Fish, who was featured four years in a row for the special edition Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The models flew in from Los Angeles and New York to be part of this project. He designed the hair and did the photo-styling during the shoot as they shot all around the different locations on the islands. The local papers previously did a story on the upcoming shoot so when they arrived, the towns welcomed them with open arms and were very hospitable. One of Michael's suitcases full of accessories were accidentally left in Federal Way so it was arranged for a plane to fly his luggage in from there to the islands. They got the Rock Star treatment!
Michael was also recently featured in MAMI Magazine.
